HonorBound: Men of Promise What do you picture when you think of the word: HonorBound? Is it a Marine in his dress uniform and polished sword? How about a knight in armor around King Arthur's round table? Our goal in Indiana is that if you are a man, you see yourself when you think of HonorBound! If you are a wife or child we want you to see your husband, father or brother. HonorBound is more than a name for Men's Ministries in the Assemblies of God. It is a new way of looking at oneself as a godly man. HonorBound embodies the vision of where we are trying to go with all the men who are part of Assemblies of God churches across America. A HonorBound man is one who is committed to being a faithful husband, loving father, and supporter of his pastor. He is one who is tough enough to be tender and loving enough to be resolute, knowing the difference between the two and having the wisdom to know which is needed when. HonorBound rests on four basic principles, which all come from the Word of God:
These four principles paint a picture of what it means to be a HonorBound man. At the very core of being HonorBound is the idea of honor in every sense of the word. It is understanding that is a process we must intentionally commit to. A process we must walk in everyday of our lives. The vision of HonorBound will be accomplished when a man can look at himself in the mirror and see himself as someone different, someone who is dressed in the full armor of God, ready to take on life as a man of honor. |
